Tine is one of my mom's oldest friends. She has 2 daughters, the younger one is now Stella and my friend. Tine just bought a new huge house with her boyfriend and we have been visiting them quite a lot. The first time we went was for Tine's birthday and that is when we decided to meet every Wednesday to do creative things (well mostly just for the kids while Tine and my mom hang out...). The last time we went, we cooked a meal, enjoyed it, and then went on a walk to the ocean. We went out pretty far as you can see in this picture:
... and then we sat down! It was so shallow that day, but also very cold from being late. (I don't think that in this picture you can tell, but it was about 9:30pm - love those long summer nights!)
On Wednesday, we are going to see the Danish Dance Theater with Tine, her family, and my family including grandmother and aunt. It takes place at the Police Headquarters in Copenhagen. Can't wait! I think it's going to be exciting.

Thanks for the dance company links. I need to explore dates for performances while we're there in Dec/Jan. Looks like my kinda thang.
ReplyDeleteI just checked your latitude (about 56 degrees North), see that you're about the same latitude as northern British Columbia. I expect that, sadly, you're loosing lots of light now. Are you noticing it? That's one of the exhilarating things about living farther north -- the loss of light in the fall, and quick gain of light in the spring. (This from someone who spent 6 years in Fairbanks, Alaska, 65 degrees North latitude.)
What's the ocean and lake water tempts?
Wow! You noticed the light loss before I did... Correct! We have been losing light and here are examples:
ReplyDeleteWhen we got to Denmark, the light would start fading at 10-10:30 ish
Now, that the summer is going, the light starts going at 7:30 ish.
Water in the ocean and lake seem enjoyably warm from the sun, though in the picture of Stella and I under Tine post, the water was very cold (it was late and sun was down so that's probably explains why).
Sorry, the light actually leaves at around 9ish.
