My mom, aunt, sister, grandmother and myself all went to a sand sculpture festival in Copenhagen. The sand is special because it has a little bit of clay in it to last a Danish summer including rain. The sand sculptures can also last up to 3 months! I found all of the sculptures very interesting and most with great meanings. There were two that I voted for. I didn't vote all based on how much I liked the sculpture, but I also took in mind the meanings and why the artist created them.

After the festival, we walked through Copenhagen going into stores and watching street performers. I thought it turned out to be a very nice day!

ReplyDeleteHey, I may know the illustrator for the Sculpture Festival. Small world. A french guy named Jerome. Maybe just a coincidence.
I'm concerned about the guys your mum's hanging out with . . .
How is the fashion different in Denmark? Do you find that your taste is changing? More color? Less color? Are you perceived as American tourists, or Danish residents? Are people surprised when they learn your from the States?
Copenhagen. How long is the train ride from Lynge?
So glad you have a camera and are posting pics now!
Wow those sculptures are unbelievable! And who is that good looking mannequin in the middle? She looks like someone I know! Tell your Mama I said hello. Thanks for all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed that they can last 3 months! A little different from our local Carmel Sand Castle Contest! Are they built on a beach that is tidally influenced? Looks like fun! Miss you guys.
ReplyDeleteNo, they are built on a dock above the ocean. I agree- 3 months! That's pretty hard to believe...
